Communications and Crucial Conversations |
One of the more difficult elements of being a leader and even a team member for that matter is feedback, yet it is a critical component of trust and effective service excellence.
Effective feedback begins with effective listening, such that you build trust and work toward achieving insight through a 5-step process. Your team will learn the active listening model and how it is part of the learning and development process that is so important to the new generation in the workplace – the Millennials.
To listen for effective feedback, requires (1) Being Present, (2) Recognizing and Working with Interdependence, (3) Suspending Judgment, (4) Inquiry – Asking Questions and (5) Reflecting for Insight. Although each conversation is unique, generally the process follows this flow.
Learn how communications and crucial conversations are different with each generation. While Millennials are continuous looking for feedback, recognition and praise, there are three other generations currently working (e.g. Gen Y, Gen X, Boomers and Traditionalists), each with their own communication, work, management and motivation style.
